Indiana Jones
As Indiana Jones Harrison Ford swash-buckles his way from disaster to disaster. Believability is not an issue as this non-stop thrill ride keeps the laughs coming without let up. In Temple of Doom Willi is along as comic female relief and Short Round is the perfect sidekick—batman, security guard, chauffeur. [Male chauvinism and political correctness be damned.]
Never without his trademark rumpled hat and bull whip the origin of which we see in outing three. The other constants are a very loud gun, chase scenes involving horses though he seems at home on any conveyance and those plane trips with red lines arcing across maps of the world. One man's grave-robber and perpetrator of cultural theft is another man's archaeologist but this one does not spend years brushing away dust with a whisk.
Book to Movie Adaptations
Unless you neither read nor watch movies you will be aware of the number of book to movie action adaptations in the recent past. Let's ignore Harry and the wizarding world for the moment. Many recent franchises have involved strong female roles:
First there was
Twilight
Then in no particular order:
Divergent
I Am Six
The Maze Runner
Hunger Games
The Giver
The Fault in Our Stars
Everything, Everything
Vampires and Werewolves are still in vogue with shows like:
Vampire Diaries
Game of Thrones
Teen Wolf
Games and Toys translate to
Power Rangers and Turtles
And comic books translate to the likes of Archie. Though K. J. Apa may be good for TV ratings I've never pictured Archie as a hunk. But then the series shows resemblance to the original in name only it seems.
