Bon Cop; Bad Cop

Told in a crude combination of English, Franglish, and profanity; Good Cop; Bad Cop plays like a riff on the odd couple. Two officers from the RCMP and the Sûreté du Quebec are jointly assigned the investigation of a gangland killing which results in the corpse straddling a Quebec/Ontario Highway Sign where the 401 meets Highway 20. The French detective arrives in what looks like a beater from an impound yard and is dressed to match; his English counterpart is immaculately tricked out and drives a vehicle that has been freshly polished. So begins an endless round of slap stick and banter that plays on all the stereotypes of the two solitudes and buddy, buddy cop movies. It almost feels like a pilot for a TV series. Perhaps it would have made it had it had Paul Gross to produce it.
